‘I can't keep this up any longer!’. I've thought that to myself so many times. Always being there for others, working hard, and constantly overlooking my own needs. Several times I've been on the brink of burnout, but fortunately, yoga has been helping me for years to feel and I could always just in time sound the alarm. Since yoga therapy has come into my life, I can delve even deeper: why do I work so hard? Why am I always there for others but not for myself? And who am I, really? Combined with (body-oriented) exercises that suit how I feel at that moment, this ensures that I no longer end up in that phase of being overburdened or overstressed. Now I can live my life from a place of calm and confidence. I wish that for you too! I guide you with a lot of calm and attention in this process towards more peace, better self-care, and self-compassion, feeling and setting boundaries. So that you can sustainably prevent burnout or recover from it. No quick fixes and also no ‘you’ll be back at work within ... weeks’ promises with me. My one-on-one trajectories are truly customized, after all, everyone needs something different. As a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT), I am trained to look at you as a whole. Not only at your stress-related complaints but also at your digestion, your sleep, your work-life balance, your social life, etc. Because you will notice during a trajectory: this is all interconnected. Not in the mood to talk about your complaints all the time? Good to know: in yoga therapy, we mainly work in a body-oriented way. You will also take home yoga, writing, and reflection exercises. There is always room to talk during the sessions, but we mainly focus on experiencing and feeling. This way, we can really listen to what our body has to tell us. You are warmly welcome in my practice in an old monastery in Utrecht. Beautiful large windows overlooking a inner garden, and even though we are located in the heart of the city, it’s wonderfully quiet there. This certainly contributes to experiencing more peace and relaxation. Prefer to work online? Because it’s more convenient distance-wise or because it's easier for you energy-wise not to have travel time? That is certainly possible too!
